Coming Summer 2026: There will be a New Fitness Building that will be located at beside the new community Centre in front of the Schoolhouse. All fitness equipment will be moved over to the new fitness building at this time. Stay tuned!

The present Fitness Building is located on the southern part of the SSCA property- just past the tennis courts.  It has an elliptical machine, spin bike, functional trainer, adjustable bench, new free weights, medicine balls, skipping ropes, TRX Band and exercise mats which are available to everyone to use.  There are a few rules that we ask you to follow:

• use of the equipment is the responsibility of the member user.
• members are responsible for knowing his/her/they own physical limitations
• no wet bathing suits or bare feet
• no breakable objects in the building
• no food or alcoholic beverages are to be consumed in the building.
• no children under 12 (unless supervised by an adult)

Starting the May long weekend, the Fitness Centre will be open from sun up to sun down every day of the week until the end of September.  We hope everyone will get out and use the Center during their time at the cottage.

Renovations on the SSCA Fitness Center were completed in September 2019. The enhancements included purchasing a treadmill, an elliptical machine, spin bike, functional trainer, adjustable bench, new free weights, medicine balls, skipping ropes, TRX Band and exercise mats.  In addition, we cleaned up the facility and changed the lay-out to significantly improve the functionality of the space.

We would like to sincerely thank the 20+ families who donated to the Fitness Center as well as the many others who helped us move and set-up the fitness equipment on a dreary Saturday in September.  Special thanks to the Chambers and Brewster/Tangney families for supplying their Stanleys to transport the equipment from Moon River Marina.  It certainly was a community effort.
